&lt;p&gt;Oddly enough, I started regularly shaving my face again after a long period of off-again/on-again bearding because I was informed that unshaven people very often equate beards (especially beards extending to the neck area) to sloppiness and "grossness."  If this perception is indeed widely held, what does that mean for web developers and their pale cheeks? Lesson: shave before your big interview, or risk your promotion to the geek who couldn't grow facial hair if he tried.&lt;/p&gt;
